This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal Cloud (M365 Integrated Mode)
  • Initial configuration

Question:

  • What are the required steps to complete provisioning and enable messages to be sent to MailMarshal Cloud for scanning?

Background:

When you complete the initial configuration wizard in the MailMarshal Cloud console, MailMarshal Cloud creates the following mailflow related items in your M365 tenancy.

  • Two connectors:
    • From MailMarshal Cloud Integrated
    • To MailMarshal Cloud Integrated (for use only by transport rules)
  • Two transport rules, created as disabled:
    • MailMarshal Cloud Integrated Loop Check
    • MailMarshal Cloud Integrated Redirect

Procedure:

To enable mailfow:

  1. Log in to the Exchange admin center at https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/
  2. On the left menu, expand Mail Flow
  3. Click Rules. Edit the two transport rules mentioned above, and enable them.

Note:

MailMarshal Cloud rules are provisioned at the end of the rule set. This is the recommended location. If other mail routing rules exist, it may be useful to change the position of these rules. Before making any changes to this order, consult LevelBlue.

  • The MailMarshal Cloud Integrated Loop Check rule MUST always be above the MailMarshal Cloud Integrated Redirect rule.
