FIX: Why are read receipts in MailMarsal Exchange sometimes not received or are blank.

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal Exchange 5.1.x

Question:

  • Why are read receipts in MailMarshal Exchange sometimes not received or are blank.

Information:

The issue occurs when X.400 connectors are used to route the messages from the senders exchange to the recipients exchange via a third exchange that has MailMarshal Exchange installed. The problem does not occur for local messages.

In order to resolve this there needs to be a change made to the format the messages are sent in. What is required is to edit the contacts affected in either Active Directory Users and Computers (In the senders exchange) or in Outlook and turn MAPI rich text format to on.

Notes:

Q11543 : Delivery Status Notifications (Delivery Receipts) do not contain any information about the emails they are for.
