PRB: Connecting to the Array Manager on Server 2008 or above

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)
  • MailMarshal ECM/MailMarshal Exchange 7.X
  • Array Manager installed on a domain member server under Windows 2008 or above (or equivalent workstation OS)

Symptoms:

  • Attempting to join an array, using a local administrator account created on the Array Manager server.
  • Access is denied.

Causes:

  • In the named operating systems, additional security is applied for administrator accounts.

Resolution:

Connect using a domain account. For SEG 8.X and below, verify that this account has the appropriate permissions using the MailMarshal Configurator (MailMarshal Properties > Manager Security).

Notes:

  • You might also be able to work around this issue by disabling Windows UAC. However, LevelBlue recommends you keep UAC enabled.
