Symptoms:

  • Error getting vsi number property (id: 34769): 0x800300FD - An unexpected error occurred.
  • One of the following errors is consistently logged in the NT Application Event Viewer and the MailMarshal Exchange Stub log:

VSI Instance could not be determined.
    • Event ID: 3000.  Description: VSI instance could not be determined.

Information:

Most of the time the error is not indicative of a problem. The only time there could potentially be a problem is if there is more than one Exchange Virtual Server instance. If you are running more than one Exchange Virtual Server, contact LevelBlue Technical Support.

To resolve this problem, upgrade to MailMarshal Exchange version 5.0.3.31 or above.

If the problem still exists:

  1. Restart IIS.
In many cases this step will fix the problem. If not, continue with the following steps.
  2. Open the MailMarshal Exchange Configurator.
  3. Go to  Tools | Server Properties | Advanced and ensure the MailMarshal Exchange Stub is installed and active.
  4. Restart the Exchange IIS Admin service (the other dependent services will automatically be restarted).
  5. Go to Admin Tools | Services.
  6. Restart the MailMarshal Exchange Controller service.
