HOWTO: How do I disable message delay notifications from being sent by MailMarshal?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)

Question:

  • How do I disable message delay notifications from being sent by MailMarshal?
  • How can I turn off the notifications that are sent to the original sender when delivery of an email is delayed in MailMarshal?

Procedure:

Currently, it is not possible to explicitly turn off delay notifications.  However, you can set the notification interval to a value greater than the message expiration timeout value; this will ensure that delay notifications are never sent from MailMarshal.

To modify the notification interval:

  1. Open MailMarshal Management Console (for 8.X and below, the MailMarshal Configurator)
  2. Navigate to Array Properties | Advanced System Properties | Times
    • In earlier versions, Tools | Server Properties or Tools | Server and Array Properties, then Advanced tab | Additional Options button | Times tab.
  3. Set the Notification and Renotification fields to a number greater than the value in the Expiration field.
