Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)
  • MailMarshal ECM/MailMarshal Exchange
  • WebMarshal
  • McAfee for Marshal

Question:

How do I manually update virus definitions for McAfee for Marshal?

Procedure:

You can manually update the virus definitions using the Update Now option in the McAfee for Marshal configuration tool. From the Start menu:

  • For SEG, select Start | MailMarshal SEGMcAfee for Marshal Configuration.
  • For ECM, select Start | MailMarshal ECMMcAfee for Marshal Configuration.
  • For WebMarshal, select Start | WebMarshal | McAfee for Marshal Configuration.

In the McAfee for Marshal configuration tool, click Start Update.

When the update is complete, click OK.

Notes:

If you want to update the virus definitions from local files, you can configure the McAfee for Marshal updater to use a local file or share. To ensure anti-virus protection, Marshal strongly recommends that you configure automatic updating of virus definition files.
