• How many SQL Server connections does MailMarshal or WebMarshal use?

Reply:

• MailMarshal (SEG) 10.0 and above uses two SQL Server connections for each Array Manager by default (one is used by the Configuration Service). If Syslog export is configured, an additional connection is used for the Syslog database.
• MailMarshal SMTP 8.X uses one SQL Server connection for each Array Manager.
• MailMarshal Exchange 7.X uses one SQL Server connection for each Array Manager.
• WebMarshal 7.X uses one SQL Server connection for each Array Manager.
• Where the Marshal Reporting Console is used (supporting one or more products), it consumes one connection.

• SQL Express does not have a limit on database operations or connections, but it does have a limit on database size.

Licensed Editions

SQL Server is available in a number of editions, with either per-processor or CAL based licensing models.
