FAQ: Why is the SEG Console displaying old classifications in the email search menu?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)
  • MailMarshal ECM/MailMarshal Exchange 7.X

Question:

  • Why is the SEG/MailMarshal Console displaying old classifications in the email search options?

Information:

MailMarshal retrieves its list of classifications from the MailMarshal database classifications table. If you delete classifications, they are flagged in the database as deleted but will still appear in the email search menu in the Console. This is because mail may still exist in quarantine that was associated with the classification and users may need to search for a message that was logged against a now deleted classification.
