FAQ: Why are Spam messages that contain attachments triggering SpamCensor but not being blocked?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)

Question:

  • Why are Spam messages that contain attachments triggering SpamCensor but not being blocked?

Cause:

In MailMarshal installations that were originally installed on much older versions, default message size conditions are included in the default SpamCensor rules. The rules do not trigger for messages over a certain size.

Resolution:

Any rules in the MailMarshal configuration that are configured to only trigger for spam messages that are below a size should have the size condition removed.

Notes:

For a list of the current MailMarshal SMTP default rules see https://support.levelblue.com/MailMarshal-SMTP/documentation.asp. You will be required to log in.
