This article applies to:

• MailMarshal SPE 

Symptoms:

• Error in SPE Replication Agent log:  External Command errors encountered (Command file not found) - C:\Program Files\Marshal\MailMarshal\Config\MMReleaseMessage.exe
• Error notification email received: An error occurred with an External Command.

Causes:

• A managed MailMarshal SMTP array is installed with the Array Manager separate from email processing nodes.
• In this case, the MMReleaseMessage.exe file is not installed on the Array Manager (but only on nodes).
• The Message Release functionality is used and requires this file.
• MailMarshal SPE expects to copy all required external command executables from the Array Manager to nodes.

Workaround:

To work around this issue, manually copy the MMReleaseMessage.exe file from an email processing node server to the Array Manager Install directory.
