FAQ: How can I view real time network statistics (iptraf)?

    Is it possible to view real time network statistics via the limited shell of the Finjan appliance?

  • Answer
    The iptraf command shows a lot of information about the network traffic through the Finjan appliance.

    iptraf is an ncurses-based IP LAN monitor that generates various network statistics including TCP info, UDP counts,
    ICMP and OSPF information, Ethernet load info, node stats, IP checksum errors, and others.
    The program comes up in interactive mode, with the various facilities accessed through the main menu.

    Some of the iptraf options include:
