Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SEG 7.5

Question:

  • What are the Release Notes for MailMarshal SEG 7.5?

Information:

The current release of MailMarshal SEG is version 7.5.8 (7.5.8.10121), released on July 7, 2017.

The Release Notes included with the product are accurate as of the date of publication.

This article provides any additional information or corrections generated after that date.

SpamProfiler Issue

SEG 7.5.8 includes a fix for an issue with SpamProfiler. This fix was previously available as a hotfix to release 7.5.7 and some earlier releases. Customer should install either the hotfix, or release 7.5.8, or the latest version (8.0.1).

Upgrade Sequence

For distributed arrays (Array Manager with separate processing nodes), the recommended order is:

  1. Update the processing nodes.
    • Note that the Engine services may not start, because in this release the Blended Threat DLL is part of the configuration updated from Array Manager.
  2. Update the Array Manager.
  3. Commit configuration and then start the Engine services.

Bitdefender for Marshal Support

SEG 7.5.6 and above supports the Bitdefender for Marshal anti-virus solution. Bitdefender for Marshal is available for download from the support pages. Note that installation of this module requires a product key with current entitlement for Bitdefender for Marshal (trial or customer key).

File Type and Unpacker updates

SEG 7.5.8 as released includes File Type DLL version 7.14.0 and Unpacker DLL version 2.4.3.

Updates to the File Type and Unpacker DLLs are published as required. For details of the most recent changes including the Release Notes, see article Q20446.
