• MailMarshal SEG 8.1 and above
• Installation of prerequisite runtimes

Symptoms:

• Product installation or upgrade cannot be completed
• Error message: Universal C Runtime and/or Microsoft Visual C++ Runtimes could not be automatically installed.

Causes:

• This message usually means that the Windows Operating System is not up to date, so the Universal C Runtime installation cannot be completed.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue:

1. Update the Windows Operating System (through Windows Updates) to a current fully updated state.
2. After updating Windows, run the SEG installer again.

Notes:

The Universal C Runtime is a core component for all current Microsoft runtimes, that is updated through Windows Updates.
