Information:

MailMarshal version 11.1 (11.1.0.6958) was released on May 29, 2025.The Release Notes included with the product are generally accurate as of the date of publication.

This article provides any additional information or corrections generated after that date.

Minimum SQL Server Version:

SQL 2016 is the minimum SQL Server or SQL Express version for installation or upgrade to MailMarshal 11.1. 
  • This is an correction to the original release note that states SQL 2014 can be used. The upgrade of the Connfiguration Service database uses functionality not available in SQL 2014.
  • To avoid disruption, customers must upgrade SQL to 2016 or above before upgrading MailMarshal.
  • If SQL 2014 was in use at the time of upgrade, the installer raises an error when upgrading the Configuration Service database. The Console will continue to show errors including (for Windows authentication) "The server has not been configured yet". Some core functionality will not be available.

Please note the following requirements. These requirements may differ from the statements in some published documentation.
  • To upgrade to version 11.1 from a version prior to 10.0.7, except 8.3.2, first upgrade to 10.0.7. 
  • For version 8.3.2, first upgrade to 10.2.5.
