HOWTO: Restarting Processing Services for one node at a time

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal 11.3 and above

Question:

  • How can I keep at least one node running when service restart is required?

Background:

Some changes to MailMarshal configuration require restart of the processing services. This includes some automatic updates that may occur with no user input.

By default all nodes update the running configuration, including service restarts, as soon as the new configuration is received.

For installations with more than one processing node server, it is possible to make the restart happen for only one node at a time.

Procedure:

To enable restart management, in the Management Console add the following Advanced Setting:

  • Name: RestartOneNodeAtATime
    • Type: Boolean
    • Value: True (selected) to enable the feature.
