Symptoms:

• Error: Download aborted when updating SurfWatch databases.

Causes:

The following screen shot shows the error which is received when trying to updated the SurfWatch databases after upgrading to WebTrends Firewall Suite 4.0a.

This error occurs because the core.bin file is in read-only mode. The executable provided below will correct this issue.

Resolution:

1. Downnload the file "fw40afix.zip" from the Article Attachments section below.
2. Extract the executable file fw40afix.exe
3. Run the executable.
4. Retry to update the Surfwatch databases.
