ERRMSG: Error: Performance Monitor requires NT 4.0

This article applies to:

  • Firewall Suite 4.X
  • Windows NT 4.0

Symptoms:

  • Error: Performance Monitor requires NT 4.0

Causes:

If you see a message that reads "Performance Monitor requires NT 4.0", or if you cannot enable the Group Performance Analysis feature in Options, it means the computer is missing a file called "psapi.dll". The file works with the NT Performance Monitor.

Information:

To resolve the issue, replace the psapi.dll file:

  1. Find psapi.dll on the NT installation CD in the following directory:

      \support\debug\i386

  2. Copy the file into the \WinNT\system32 directory.

  3. Reboot the computer.
