HOWTO: How do I change the default browser used to view WebTrends reports?

  • Firewall Suite 4.X

Question:

How do I change the default browser used to view Firewall Suite reports?

Procedure:

firewall Suite uses a web browser to display reports formatted with HTML. Ordinarily, the software uses the browser defined in the Microsoft Windows registry as your default browser. If a registered browser version is not found, your hard disk is searched and the first browser found is chosen.

If you prefer to use a specific browser when viewing reports, specify the path to the browser you wish Firewall Suite to use. Follow these steps.

  • For Firewall Suite Versions 4.0+

    1. From the main console, select Tools | Options.

    2. Click Main in the Options dialog.

    3. In the window labeled Path to Default Browser,  type the path to the browser in the text box provided, or click the button to the right of the text box to locate the browser's executable file.

    4. Click OK to close out of the Options dialog.



  • For Firewall Suite (versions prior to 4.0)

    1. Select Configure | Options | Main | Browser.

    2. Enter the path of the browser you wish to use to view WebTrends reports.

    3. Click OK.
