If you are unsure about your proxy settings you can obtain this information from within your browser. Follow these steps if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.

2. Select Tools | Internet Options.

3. Select the Connections tab.

4. Click the LAN Settings button.

5. This dialog will display your proxy server settings.

To configure Firewall Suite to connect through a proxy server, follow these steps.

1. From the main console of WebTrends, click Tools | Options Main | Access to Internet.

2. If your network uses a proxy server to process Internet connections, check the box next to Connect through a Proxy Server. If you do not use a proxy server, leave this box unchecked. To determine whether your network uses a proxy server, contact your network administrator.

3. Enter the information needed to connect through the proxy server.

   • HTTP address
     Enter the host name for the proxy server your network uses into the text box provided. You should specify the entire domain name for the server here.

   • Port
     Enter the port number the proxy server uses to accept connections. Consult your network administrator to learn which port to enter here.

   • HTTP access requires a User Name/Password
     Select this check box if the proxy server you use requires authentication for access. This activates the remaining text boxes in this area. Not all servers will require authentication - those that do will tie all requests for Internet access to a particular user's identity.

   • User Name
     Enter a user name with access rights to the proxy server, if the server requires one. If it does not, clear the HTTP access requires a User Name/Password check box.

   • Password
     Enter the password that corresponds with the user name you specified. Firewall Suite will use the password and user name to initiate requests through the proxy server.

4. Click OK once you have completed all requests for information to close out of this dialog.
