INFO: Why does the Security Reporting Center user interface come up very slowly?

Question:

Why does the Security Reporting Center user interface come up very slowly?

Causes:

This behavior may occur if the SRC computer can't connect to the Internet upon startup. When you try to lauch the Security Reporting Center, it tries to connect to the Internet to verify the version.

Information:

Verify the SRC computer has access to the Internet. 

A workaround is to disable the Check for update option from either of the following:

  • Firewall Reporting module
  • Proxy Reporting module

To to disable the Check for update, follow these steps:

  1. Click Firewall Reporting > Options > Check For Update.
  2. Uncheck the Disable update notifications at startup option.
