FAQ: Can I create a GUI username/password with limited permissions, such as read-only permission?

Question:

Can I create a GUI username/password with limited permissions, such as read-only permission?

Reply:

If you're using IP Groups, you can allow someone else to log in with the IP group's username and password to manage that one IP Group only. They can make changes within their specific IP Group only; they cannot modify network settings, global settings, or other IP Groups. If you're not using IP Groups, or if your goal is to create global "limited" or "read-only" accounts, unfortunately, the GUI does not support this feature. However, we are working on this, as well as many other GUI login enhancements, and hope to have something ready to go sometime in 2008.
