Question:

How do I unblock a site that is blocked via proxy patterns?

Reply

Using  real-time probes or some similar method, you have find that a site is being blocked via proxy patterns, and you wish to unblock this site, there are three ways to unblock it.

The first is to simply disable proxy pattern blocking, either by turning off the Service Control  blocking from the System/Control/Filter, or by removing Web-based Proxies/Anonymizers from the blocked categories of the group that is getting blocked.

If this method is not viable, then you will want to set the site's IP as a Destination IP to Exclude from filtering in the Range to Detect settings of the filter. In this way, requests for this IP will not be considered as filterable, please note this excluded ip will not show up in the reporter.

In filter software version 3.0.00.9 or higher has the new Pattern Detection Whitelist in Library > Pattern Detection Whitelist)this lets you create a list of IP addresses that will always bypass pattern detection filtering.
