ERRMSG: R3000IR alert email: "Not enough space left on system drive or database drive to make backup copy"

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • R3000IR

Symptoms:

  • Email alert sent from the R3000IR with subject: "Not enough space left on system drive or database drive to make backup copy"

Causes:

This error message has to do with the database/reporter side of the R3000IR, not the filtering side.

The IR box has a hard drive partition that is reserved for database backups. Normally a reporter unit would only make one backup of the database. However, an IR box makes a second backup stored on that same partition, essentially a backup of the backup.

The error message is generated when the backup partition is about 55% full. The process responsible for the second backup uses that as a threshold and will stop itself from creating the second backup if it reaches that. However this will not effect the normal backup procedure responsible for the first backup.
