FAQ: What is the purpose of the Block Page Route Table?

Question:

  • What is the purpose of the Block Page Route Table under System -> Network -> Block Page Route Table?

Reply:

The block page route table is actually the same as the kernel routing table for the entire filter.  Its main purpose is to specify a gateway to be used by the filter when attempting to contact a specified subnet.  This is useful in cases where the default gateway has no route to a certain subnet.  Adding an entry in such a case should allow block pages (and any other filter traffic) to reach that subnet.
