This article applies to:

• R3000IR Only (Combined R3000 Filter & Enterprise Reporter appliance)

Symptoms:

• When attempting to apply the R3000 v2.2 patch on the R3000IR appliance, the following error is given:
   
  Error:
  “The file:/usr/local/8e6/conf/version doesn't contain exptected content or greater:5.0.00, aborting..."

Causes:

• The R3000 v2.2 not only upgrades the Operating System on the appliance, but a number of other key software components such as Tomcat, Apache Web Server, MySql.  Since the R3000IR box is actually running both the R3000 filter software, and the Enterprise Reporter software, we cannot apply these upgrades onto the appliance until the Enterprise Reporter Software is compatible with the new software upgrades.

Resolution:

Upgrade the Enterprise Reporter upto 5.0.00, before attempt to apply R3000 v2.2 software
