FAQ: How can I manually stop authenticat.exe without using the Task Manager?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • R3000
  • 8e6 Authenticator

Question:

  • How can I manually stop authenticat.exe without using the Task Manager?

Reply:

If you need to stop authenticat.exe on a system, and the user does not have the rights to open up the task manager to kill the process, you can stop it by placing a copy of authenticat.exe locally on that workstation, and running it as follows from a command prompt:

authenticat.exe terminate

This will stop the process, as well as the LDAP profile for the user on the R3000.
