INFO: NG-8000 Management Module SNMP always requires IP Address / Host Name

Expand / Collapse

  • Description
Within the NG-8000 Management Module it is necessary to enter at least one IP address when configuring SNMP Get. If you enter a community name and specify SNMP Get, and you do not enter an IP address, the SNMP V1 agent will be disabled automatically.

  • Symptoms
SNMPv1 is disabled when applying SNMP settings in the Management Module GUI if no IP address is entered.

  • Cause
There should be an SNMP server IP address / Host name defined, so all Get requests will be sent to it.

  • Solution
Enter an IP address when configuring SNMP GET.
