HOWTO: Editing MRC email templates

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Marshal Reporting Console

Question:

  • How do I change the text of email templates?

Procedure:

Many of the email messages sent by Marshal Reporting Console can be customized.

To customize messages:

  1. On the Marshal Reporting Console server, use Windows Explorer to open the folder TemplateMail within the MRC installation.
  2. Make a backup copy of the template files in another location.
  3. Use a text editor or HTML editor to edit the template file(s). You can change the text and other attributes.

Note: Be sure to preserve all the ASP.NET labels and control blocks. If any of this material is removed, mail generation will fail.
  4. Save the edited file(s) in the TemplateMail folder.
  5. You can also cange the font and other attributes by editing the CSS stylesheet used for these messages. The stylesheet is named EmailTemplate.css and is found in the CSS folder within the MRC installation.

The templates are:

  1. Report generation failure
  2. Report email delivery (attached file)
  3. Report generation notification (click link to view)
  4. Report email delivery failure (error)
  5. Report email delivery failure (sending problem)
  6. Report generation failure - Administrator was notified
  7. Application exception details
