INFO: Adding url to a category takes time

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • WFR
  • R3000

Question:

  • why is that when I try to add a site like www.starfall.com into my custom allow category its takes about 2 minutes after clicking the Add butoon for it to load all the possible options but when I try to add any other url like cnn.com it comes up fast.

Information:

The reason is because when you try to add a url for example www.starfall.com the filters tries to gather all the possible entries (including IPs and domains) associated with the site, and in this case www.starfall.com comes up with about 19 entries (mostly IP) and as a result this is resource intensive. But adding a site like cnn.com comes up faster because it only loads about 3 or 4 entries associated with cnn.com
