HOWTO: How do I block Google Buzz?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • R3000

Question:

  • How do I block Google Buzz?

Procedure:

Currently there is no way to block Google Buzz without blocking Gmail as Buzz loads inside Gmail and uses the same ipaddress range.  If you are okay with blocking Gmail you can either block the webmail category or add the domain mail.google.com to a custom category set to block.  DO NOT block the IP address as Google frequently changes their IP address range for various sites and this can cause other Google sites (google.com, blogspot.com, youtube.com, docs.google.com) to be blocked.
