This article applies to:

Question: How do I remove red certificate error on WFR and 4.0 versions

Procedure: Reverse/forward Dns has to be able to  quailfy the ip address of the filter and return a domain name of the filter and vise -versa. then they can create a self signed and that will give them a new cert. after that step, they must login to filter by domain name only and not by IP. After that you can create a self-signed cert in system>SSL Certificate, in a WFR machine go to the TAR section and create the cert there under the registry section.

Notes:you can also delete your old certificate in Java plugin under security tab.

Optional.
