This article applies to:

• Marshal Reporting Console installation

Symptoms:

• Previously encountered an error and cancelled MRC installation
• When attempting to install MRC again, the following error message displays:
  • The setup has detected that no version of Marshal Reporting Console is installed. This update requires that a previous version of the application be installed.

Causes:

• When the MRC installation is cancelled, a registry key is not removed.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue:

1. Edit the Registry
2. Navigate to one of the following locations (on a 64 bit system, either location could be in use):
   • 64 bit OS version: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Marshal
   • 32 or 64 bit OS version: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Marshal
3. Delete the subkey MarshalReporting and any values or subkeys it contains.

After completing these steps you will be able to install MRC immediately.

Take due care when editing the Registry.
