FAQ: Does the filter query for new IP changes on websites.

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • WFR WF R3000

Question:

  • Is there a way to setup our filter to automatically query websites for new ip address changes in order to keep a website blocked? I have put facebook.com and *.facebook.com in our rules to block on our filter, but they have added/changed their ip address a couple of times just this year and students were then able to get around your firewall.

Reply:

The filter is customizable to add any new ip's to allow or block websites. The filter does not query for new changes in IP's for domains. In fact we only add ip's for malware, spyware or malicious sites.
