HOWTO: Allowing Filter Access for Apple Facetime

Expand / Collapse

To allow filter access to Apple Face Time a port exclusion statement must be configured in your Range-to-Detect settings.

Face Time is using port 5223 for initial application login.

Please access your Range-to-Detect from the filter GUI as follows:
Policy > Global Group > Range to Detect
Select the IP statement regarding the specified subnet range for the filter group and select 'Modify'.
Click 'Next' to step through the configuration until you come to Step 5 - Destination Ports to Exclude from Detection.
Enter the value 5223 in the 'Individual Port' field and select 'Add'.
Click 'Next' and then 'Finish' at the Step 6 - Recap screen.

This completes the port exclusion action.
