What are the benefits of using SR Virtual instead of the SR Appliance option?

Reply:

SR Virtual lets you use an existing computer to run the SR software image as a virtual machine, instead of installing and configuring a separate SR appliance. Virtualization is more cost effective in ensuring redundancy, failover and disaster recovery.
