PRB: PDF reports do not include detail

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Marshal Reporting Console 2.5
  • Reports in PDF format

Symptoms:

  • PDF reports such as Web Usage by User do not include the detail lines
  • PDF reports do not have navigation tools to expand summary lines

Causes:

  • This behavior is by design of the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services report generator.

Resolution:

To generate a PDF that includes detail lines:

  1. Generate the report to on-screen format.
  2. In the report viewer, navigate the output and expand the required sections.
  3. Export the report from the viewer. The sections you expanded will be included in the results.

Note:

  • MRC 2.6 produces reports with all sections expanded by default.
  • When saving from an on-screen display with MRC 2.6, due to interaction between the report generator and Report Viewer, you may find that the expanded sections in the exported PDF are reversed from the section shown on screen. LevelBlue is investigating this issue. Meanwhile, you can work around the issue by reversing your selections.
